Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator on a permanent basis, located in Hampshire.
Role Summary
You'll get to work on some exciting £multi-million portfolio of projects which includes substation construction works (Civils and Electrical), underground cable connections and reinforcement schemes, overhead line connections and refurbishments, in a broad mix of environments including existing substations, rural and suburban landscapes.
You'll be accountable for ensuring all pricing requirements are met and submitted in line with contract requirements. Support delivery teams during the pre-construction phases and input to overall programme portfolio revenue forecasting.
Accountabilities
· Review documents and prepare a report identifying project details.
· Liaising with specialist supply chain contractors and materials suppliers as appropriate.
· Working alongside our direct delivery teams to forecast construction programme to support project pricing.
· Compiling project specific preliminaries in conjunction with contractors.
· Preparing project risk register.
· Carrying out site visits and preparing reports, where necessary.
· Preparing pricing submission document and associated documents.
· Taking off dimension drawings as required.
· Post tender financial negotiations.
· Assess and manage risk and opportunity and support negotiations as part of the pricing process.
· Collate and review tender documents and submission requirements in a timely way, ensuring all financial information is identified and provided and accurate compliant design proposals are included.
· Provide Project Kick-Off documentation as part of the commercial handover meeting.
· Responsibility for 'sign off' of all cost elements prior to any gate meetings or financial submissions.
· Manage the production of cost information for senior management.
· Provide considered responses to customer questions including post tender queries.
· Ensure that the project commercial team have received an effective handover of bid documentation.
Personal Qualities & Experience
· Have experience working within Construction for a contractor and have a range of project experience to include new builds / refurbishments and civils and utilities.
· Qualified to degree level; Preferably BSc in relevant area or qualified by experience
· Ability to work with design team to assess risk is essential
· Have a sound knowledge of/ability to use spreadsheets and other commercial packages
