Academics, Canterbury are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded independent boarding school to recruit an outstanding Head of School Rugby.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking coach to lead and develop a thriving rugby programme. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of rugby across the school, driving participation and performance while leading the 1st XV and 7s programmes.

A key feature of the role is the opportunity to work in partnership with a professional rugby club, contributing to an elite player pathway and supporting talented students in progressing to higher levels of the game.

You will also play a vital role in supporting and developing staff, delivering high-quality coaching, and contributing to the wider sports provision. As part of a full boarding environment, the role includes tutoring and pastoral responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience coaching rugby to a high standard (minimum Level 3 RFU)
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire both students and staff
  • A passion for developing players across all ability levels
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

Experience in coaching additional sports and working within a boarding environment would be advantageous.
