An outstanding primary school in Cheltenham is seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Year 2 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team from September 2025. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher to make a real difference in a nurturing and supportive school environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality, engaging curriculum to a Year 2 class, ensuring pupils achieve their full potential both academically and personally. You will contribute actively to the school's vision of fostering confident, curious learners.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver inspiring and well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 2.

Assess, track and support pupils' progress and development.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes excellent behaviour and engagement.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuity across Key Stage 1.

Engage effectively with parents and carers to support pupil learning and well-being.

Participate in whole-school activities and professional development opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.

*

Proven experience teaching Year 2 or KS1 pupils.

Strong understanding of phonics programmes and early literacy and numeracy development.

Excellent classroom management skills and ability to differentiate learning.

Enthusiastic, reflective and committed to ongoing professional growth.

Effective communicator and team player.
