A warm and welcoming primary school in the heart of Urmston, Trafford is seeking a passionate and nurturing Early Years Class Teacher to join their dedicated team on a fixed-term basis for one year, starting in October 2025. This role is to cover a maternity leave and offers the opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, supportive school community. You will be paid to scale for this role

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for teaching a Reception class within the school's EYFS unit. They will work closely with the parallel class teacher and support staff to plan, deliver and assess a high-quality, engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Key Responsibilities as a Reception Teacher in the role:

Deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum with creativity, energy and understanding
Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing classroom environment that supports learning through play and purposeful experiences
Observe, assess and record children's progress accurately, using this information to inform next steps and planning
Work in close partnership with teaching assistants, senior leaders, and parents/carers to support each child's holistic development
Promote children's personal, social and emotional well-being alongside their academic progress
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including staff meetings, school events and ongoing professional developmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Be:

A qualified teacher (QTS) with a strong understanding of the EYFS Framework
Experienced in teaching in an Early Years setting (Reception experience desirable)
Passionate about early childhood education and committed to giving children the best possible start
Skilled in observation-led planning and assessment, including the use of formative assessment tools and learning journals
A reflective practitioner, willing to adapt and grow within a supportive team environment
An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents and colleaguesTo join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

Hold a relevant Teaching qualification
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
Legal right to work in the UK
