Role Overview

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality and resolving internal and external quality issues. You'll work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure standards are met and concerns are addressed promptly. The role includes authority to stop production when necessary to investigate and resolve quality concerns.

Key Responsibilities

Liaise with customer and supplier representatives to ensure clear understanding of requirements and standards
Coordinate customer requirements across departments including sales, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, purchasing, and accounts
Maintain quality standards in line with work instructions, samples, and QMS documentation
Support and mentor team members to enhance on-the-job training and understanding
Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and team-based problem solving
Participate in APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, Calibration, and QMS activities
Conduct audits in line with the company's audit schedule
Undertake additional tasks as required by the business, within the scope of skills and training

Qualifications

NVQ Level 4 in an Automotive Context (essential)
NVQ Level 5 in an Automotive Context (desirable)

Skills & Experience

Minimum two years of NVQ Level 4 activities in an automotive environment (essential)
Experience with NVQ Level 5 activities over a two-year period (desirable)
Strong communication and coordination skills across departments
Proven ability to manage customer and supplier relationships
Experience with quality tools and systems including APQP, FMEA, and QMS
Audit experience within a manufacturing setting
