Team Leader (Children and Young People’s Services)

Location: Gateshead

Salary: £13 per hour (£27,040 per annum) (Plus, On Call Allowance and Mileage)

Our client is a new children’s social care service launched earlier this year. The service is currently providing community based short break support for children with disabilities.

The organisation is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced care worker or team leader to join their growing team.

Based from the Gateshead Office. Mainly working Monday to Friday, some pre-planned weekend and evening work.

The Role

You will work with the Service Delivery Lead to:

• Assess children and young people’s support needs.
• Observe and shadow children at home and at school.
• Write and review care plans and risk assessments.
• Plan and communicate support rota’s.
• Induct, mentor and observe new staff.
• Deliver support and introduce support workers to children and their families.
• Provide on call, telephone support for staff delivering care. (On a rota basis)

Skills & Experience

They need someone who:

• Loves working with children and families
• Has a full UK driving license
• Likes to be active and likes to work in different environments and with different people
• Is confident with computers and using software like Excel, Word and Outlook
• Is keen to develop and progress in their career
• Is passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people with disabilities
