Vacancy: Workshop Controller 
Location: Nottingham, East Midlands 
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 17:30 & 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:30 - 13:00
Salary: Basic: £35, 000 to £37,500. OTE £45,000 £50,000

This long-established, family-run automotive garage in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller with the capability to support or step into the Workshop Controller role when required. You will work closely with the current Workshop Controller to ensure the smooth running of a busy garage environment, managing technicians, overseeing repairs, and maintaining high standards of workmanship. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced automotive workshop and be confident handling Workshop Controller responsibilities as part of their day-to-day work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the automotive workshop team by example
Work alongside the Workshop Controller to coordinate daily job flow
Support or deputise for the Workshop Controller in managing technicians, diagnostics, and repair schedules
Monitor productivity, workshop efficiency, and quality control
Manage staffing, training, and operational planning
Ensure all repairs, servicing, and MOT-related tasks are completed to industry standards and within agreed timeframes
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years' management experience in an automotive workshop
Proven experience in developing and nurturing technical talent
Strong communication and customer service skills
Full, valid UK driver's licence
Ability to carry out or support Workshop Controller duties in a busy garage environment
