Senior Data Analyst

This position is located onsite in Cleveland, OH The primary purpose this position is to perform the day-to-day analytics activities, across the organization, including but not limited to: the design, build, test and deployment of models, analytics methods, and business intelligence dashboards; and performing, organizing and conducting analytics activities and projects that support the analysis of grid reliability. This work also includes the evaluation of Bulk Electric System related information from various internal and external sources and the assessment of risk posed by violations or other entity conduct by applying a systems approach to assessing the capabilities and performance of our registered stakeholders as related to the reliability of the Bulk Electric System. This individual will be responsible for the quality and timeliness of specific business deliverables. This position will support and implement the policies and programs established by ReliabilityFirst. Required: Bachelor degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or similar statistical field required with at least 5 years of related experience OR no degree with at least 10 years of related experience/education resulting in demonstrated ability to perform the major duties required. Quantitative Techniques - Knowledge of and ability to use quantitative tools and techniques to measure and analyze risks. Predictive Analytics - Knowledge of tools, methods and processes used to make predictions; ability to use the tools, processes and practices for predicting trends and providing forecasts that drive business decisions and business planning. Ability to digest and obtain comprehensive understanding of the design and limitation of the electric power system through analysis of technical reports and Reliability Standards. Ability to work with and analyze disparate and unstructured data and detailed information, and to draw meaningful conclusions from that information. Machine Learning – Knowledge of and ability to implement machine learning techniques, models and methods. Natural Language Processing – Experience with NLP and/or Text Analytics. Proficient in R, Python and/or MATLAB Desired: Graduate or upper level Degree (preferably in advanced statistical modeling of control systems or systems engineering) is a plus. Working knowledge in the operation or planning of the Bulk Electric System (BES) and supporting technologies, is a plus. Regulatory experience is a plus. Computer skills: proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access and Power Point is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and additional programming languages (i.e. SAS, Java, C, C++, etc.) desirable. Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI. Advanced skills in Excel with knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including v-look-up, pivot tables, charts, graphing and macros
