The business delivers a wide range of residential and commercial projects and is known for its reliable service, quality workmanship, and strong supply-chain relationships. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Plumbing Buyer to strengthen their commercial team.Your new roleAs the Plumbing Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing all plumbing materials, fittings, and equipment required across multiple active projects. Working closely with Project Managers and Site Teams, you will ensure materials are ordered competitively, arrive on time, and meet quality standards.Your key responsibilities will include:Building and managing relationships with suppliers and merchantsNegotiating pricing and securing cost-effective dealsRaising purchase orders and managing delivery schedulesForecasting material requirements and preventing shortagesMaintaining accurate pricing logs, procurement records, and supplier performance dataIdentifying opportunities for cost efficienciesProviding technical insight on plumbing materials when neededWhat you'll need to succeedThe company is open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds. You will be successful if you have:A strong understanding of plumbing materials and systemsExperience from a plumbing merchant/trade counter, as a plumber looking to move off the tools, or from a construction/M&E supply background with transferable skillsConfident negotiation and communication abilitiesStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projectsGood IT skills and experience with ordering or procurement systemsA commercially minded approach with strong attention to detailWhat you'll get in returnYou will receive a competitive salary between £30,000 - £36,000, depending on experience.
