Job Title: Communication, Language and Interaction (CLI) Teacher - Primary SEND Unit
Location: Beswick M11
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: Paid to Scale
Start Date: September 2025

Are you a confident and experienced teacher with a passion for supporting children with communication and language needs? We are looking for a Communication, Language and Interaction (CLI) Teacher to join a specialist SEND unit within a welcoming primary school for the full academic year, starting in September.

This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

About the Role:

You will teach a small group of pupils with a range of communication and interaction difficulties, including autism and developmental language disorders. Your role will involve:

* Planning and delivering highly tailored lessons that support both academic and personal development

* Supporting pupils' communication, language, and interaction skills through evidence-based strategies

* Collaborating with speech and language therapists, SEND staff, and other professionals

* Creating a structured, inclusive and nurturing environment

* Using differentiated and flexible teaching approaches to meet individual needs

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) - Essential

* Proven experience teaching pupils with communication and language difficulties, particularly autism and/or DLD

* Confident in behaviour management and building strong, trusting relationships

* Excellent understanding of inclusive and adaptive teaching practices

* Please note: This role is not open to ECTs

Desirable:

* A SEND specialism qualification (e.g. PGCert in Autism, NASENCO, or equivalent)

* Experience working in a specialist provision, SEND unit or similar setting
