Our client is an award-winning independent PR and digital agency specialising in corporate and consumer communications. An established brand within the world of PR, they might be nearly 30 years old, but they never stand still and are looking for a driven and enthused Senior Account Director to join their team.

A bit about the role:

A Senior Account Director position within the Corporate Team. Reporting directly to Head of Corporate, this person is pivotal in team and needs to be driving the team from an HR point of view as well as running a portfolio of accounts. As Senior Account Director you will work alongside a part-time Divisional Director and oversee an SAM, 2 SAEs, an AE, plus work with a content creator, social media consultant and a part-time marketing and new business consultant.

The Corporate team has a wide range of clients from sectors including sustainability, packaging, food waste, food retail and manufacturing consultancy, retail security technology, motorway services and global business trade exhibitions, conferences and events. We work on UK, pan-European and Global briefs all from the UK.

What you'll be doing:

As Account Director you will be responsible for the following areas:

* Media / Social Media: Undertaking all strategic and creative planning for existing clients and new business, creating proposals and plans and executing with team. Taking senior lead on all delivery and executing media and social media activity as required, directing team and supporting with senior work as appropriate. Liaison with client and overseeing all reporting, face-to-face / Teams meetings, monitoring of KPI delivery / success.

* Content Creation: Creation of complex content for clients as required from reports, awards, white papers, thought leadership, videos etc. Overseeing and approving all content created by team as final approval before going to client.

* Crisis and Issue Management: Leading on and handling of issues and crises for clients, including senior client counsel, working with team to draft media statements, and any internal notices, alerts, website copy, LinkedIn or social media copy as required. Handling media calls as necessary.

* Client Management: Being the senior / main day-to-day contact (depending on client requirements) with all clients at mid to senior level; managing all requests and delegating to team as needed, attending and leading client meetings / calls; outputting monthly / quarterly / annual reviews; outputting creative plans on an ad-hoc, project, six-monthly or annual basis; management of all financial and budget requirements on accounts. Involvement too in new business process from brainstorming, creative development and research, compilation of proposals and presenting to prospective clients alongside Head of Corporate.

* Team Management: Being the focal point within the team on all accounts; ensuring that the team is working effectively and outputting programmes and plans for clients as required. Motivating team members, identifying and handling any issues in the first instance before escalating to Head of Corporate; assisting with the reviewing process on all direct reports; mentoring and nurturing team.

* Business Management: Ensuring efficient and profitable operation of client business by making effective use of time management information to manage people and business both efficiently and profitably.

Someone who has an out-going personality, can chat and converse with clients at all levels with ease and do the same internally. Someone with energy, who is upbeat, without any attitude and wants to do a great job and get the best out of the team too. Someone organised and efficient and a great open communicator, face-to-face, on the phone and in writing. Someone with a proven track record at running client business and teams successfully. Importantly is a team player. And overall, a nice person, who is as happy in the office as they are down the pub.
