About the Role

A friendly and supportive small primary school in Burnley is seeking a dedicated KS2 Teacher to join their team for the Summer Term. This is a full-time teaching role, working across different classes in Key Stage 2, supporting learning and maintaining continuity during a busy period in the school year.

The successful candidate will work closely with the KS2 team, delivering engaging lessons, ensuring high standards of learning, and adapting effectively to different classes and year groups. The school prides itself on its warm, community-focused environment and is looking for someone who can quickly build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach across KS2 classes, delivering high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and pupil needs across Years 3–6.
  • Plan, assess, and evaluate learning to ensure pupils make good progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all children feel supported and valued.
  • Work collaboratively with the KS2 team and wider staff to ensure continuity and consistency.
  • Maintain good behaviour management using the school’s policies and positive approaches.
  • Provide feedback to pupils, colleagues, and parents (where required).

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – applications welcome from both experienced teachers and ECTs.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to suit various classes and year groups.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching in mixed-age or small-school settings.
  • Strong behaviour management and positive relationship-building skills.
