Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer - Bishops Stortford

Location: Bishops Stortford

Salary: £48,000 + overtime + benefits

Shift Pattern: 2 nights on, 2 days on, 4 days off (12-hour shifts)

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a prestigious site in Bishops Stortford, working for one of the world's leading Facilities Management providers. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee day-to-day engineering operations, ensure compliance, and support a small team of engineers in delivering high-quality building services.

You'll be the go-to technical expert on site, responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and fabric systems—working on a rotating shift pattern that offers excellent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate daily engineering tasks across the site

Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on building services systems

Complete and manage PDA-based works and digital reporting

Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers

Ensure compliance with statutory testing and site documentation

Liaise with clients and FM management to ensure service excellence

Manage subcontractors and oversee small works projects

Maintain accurate records via CAFM systems

Promote and enforce health & safety standards across all activities

Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical discipline

18th Edition (for electrical bias) or relevant mechanical certifications

Proven experience in commercial FM environments

Strong skills in PPM, reactive maintenance, and PDA-based reporting

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

Strong communication and leadership skills

Familiarity with CAFM systems and compliance protocols
