About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Officer for Visual Impairment to join our Adult Social Care team. This is a vital role supporting residents experiencing sight loss, helping them maintain independence and wellbeing through specialist assessments and tailored rehabilitation plans.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct specialist assessments for individuals with visual sensory loss.
- Develop and monitor support plans in collaboration with service users and carers.
- Maintain the register for sight impaired and severely sight impaired residents.
- Act as a key worker for individuals with significant sight loss.
- Liaise with equipment providers and community services to ensure best value and effective support.
- Deliver sensory awareness training and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Requirements- Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies (or equivalent) and RWPN registration.
- Proven experience working with adults and children with visual impairments.
- Strong assessment, planning, and advocacy skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and assistive technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Enhanced DBS for children and adults.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
