Estates Officer
Permanent | Full-Time | Kensington Olympia
A well-established site in West London is looking for a practical, reliable Estates Officer to support the smooth day-to-day running of a busy, multi-use environment.
Working closely with the Estates Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the safety, security and overall condition of the site, ensuring operations run efficiently and issues are dealt with proactively, professionally and without disruption.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and is comfortable taking responsibility when needed.
The Role
- Salary: £31,000 per annum
- Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00
- Location: Kensington Olympia
- Contract: Permanent, year-round (52 weeks)
- Some flexibility required for occasional early starts, evenings or weekends to support events, contractors or planned works.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Estates Manager with day-to-day operational oversight of the site
- Monitoring health & safety compliance and addressing issues promptly
- Coordinating and supervising contractors, temporary and agency staff
- Managing planned and reactive maintenance, repairs and minor works
- Carrying out routine inspections of buildings, systems and grounds
- Maintaining records relating to safety, compliance and scheduled works
- Supporting fire safety arrangements, emergency routes and site security
- Opening and securing the site, including out-of-hours oversight when required
- Setting up and clearing down spaces to support daily activity
- Responding professionally to issues raised via the helpdesk system
- Providing clear, timely updates to the Estates Manager on progress or risks
What We’re Looking For
- A calm, reliable individual with a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Someone comfortable working independently and using their initiative
- Good working knowledge of basic health & safety and building compliance
- Proven hands-on maintenance or facilities experience, with strong DIY skills
- Competence with hand tools; a trade background is advantageous
- Able to carry out moderate manual handling tasks
- Confident communicator, both face-to-face and via email
- Flexible attitude and willingness to support outside normal hours when required
- Clean UK driving licence
- First Aid trained or willing to undertake training
