Telecommunications Technician / Project Manager

Compensation: DOE

We have openings for experienced Telecommunications Technician / Project Manager with Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification in current good standing with BICSI.

If you don't have project management experience but DO have RCDD BICSI certification, we can talk.

Pay is hourly and based on your experience. We are a drug free workplace and due to the public safety nature of this position, a completely CLEAN criminal background is required. Position requiring experience in telecommunication infrastructure with RCDD Certification. Report to project management.

Responsible for installation, termination, splicing, testing and certification of various types of cable plant including twisted pair, coaxial, single and multi-mode fiber optical cable. Installation includes placement, termination, grounding and bonding, testing, labeling and documentation. Insure all work is accomplished in accordance with ANSI/EIA/TIA standards and national electrical code as well as the local AHJ.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Field survey, estimate, write and provide detailed Scope of Work proposals to clients

  • Manage projects

  • Ability to manage projects and crews

  • Train all levels of technicians and electricians

  • Manage and oversight of man-power and track hours accordingly

  • Manage materials staging and procurement

  • Maintain all documentation including material list, scope of work, as-built drawings

  • Establish job milestones and projections with projected progress visibility

  • Attend and actively participate in regular Construction meetings

  • Coordinate with clients / customers

  • Responsible for initiating, tracking and implementing change orders

  • Coordinate with other trades as may be required

  • Responsible for on-site safety and complying with safety guidelines

  • 5-years Telecommunications/Structured Cabling/Fiber Optic/Data Center experience desired

  • PMP Certification is a plus

  • Develop and build customer relationships that result in new and/or repeat business
