Our Client is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their lovely team based in Carnforth. The role consists of supporting the Global Product and Purchasing Directors to ensure that the company's product and purchasing strategies are successfully implemented and maintained. The role holder will have to be highly organized with an eye for detail in order to keep all company records up to date and any product launches are on track. The role also includes assistance and knowledge of samples in the company's product library. Must be highly competent in data input and systems management. Requirements include an excellent telephone manner and the ability to liaise professionally with suppliers, external agencies, and sales personnel

Responsibilities:

Product information

* Ensure sample data is stored correctly in the digital library

* Support where necessary in organisation of the physical product library

* Maintenance of supplier product information

New Product Development

* Liaising with suppliers to collect all relevant new product information

* Managing the storage and distribution of new product data

* Creation of new product information across all systems

* Management of sample material for new product launches, including initial sample stock and photography materials

Purchasing

* Maintenance of goods in tracker

* General admin support for BAU and Bespoke Purchasing teams

Compliance

* Assisting in collection of supplier due diligence data

* Assisting in sample preparation for testing

* Assisting in maintenance of FSC, PEFC and ISO 14001 systems

Requirements

* The ability to communicate excellently both verbally and in writing

* A good attention to detail, analytical skills

* Excellent telephone manner

* Previous experience of working in a team

* Experience of working with industry accreditations, standards and trademarks
