An established insurance broker based in Manchester is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as an Account Handler. This role is key to supporting the New Business Executive and Client Directors in delivering exceptional service to new and existing clients.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring efficient and timely processing of client documentation, managing communications, and supporting colleagues to exceed targets - all while adhering strictly to FCA regulations.

Responsibilities of the Account Handler role:

  • Provide outstanding customer service, managing client communications via email, phone, and letters promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare and issue accurate quotations, renewal reports, presentations, and other client and market documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date electronic client files and internal systems with accurate risk information.
  • Complete onboarding checks and process new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and insurer liaison in line with compliance requirements.
  • Issue insurance documentation within deadlines, manage debt collection, process payments/refunds, and resolve account queries.
  • Use task management tools to track work, and follow all company and FCA policies, completing required training on time.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
  • Experience using Acturis is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with FCA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities.
  • Experience in client service or support roles within insurance is preferred.
  • Previous experience working under delegated authority facilities is beneficial.
  • CII qualifications or the desire to work towards them are advantageous.
