Leader Education are recruiting an Autism Support Assistant to work at a large SEND School based in Whitley Bay. The successful Autism Support Assistant will have a good amount of knowledge on how to support children with Autism as well as experience inworking with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis. The school caters for young people with SEND in Key Stages 1 to 4.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one
- Essential transferable skills or relevant experience working with children or vulnerable people
- Strong classroom management skills
- A qualification in supporting teachers is desirable
- A level 2/3/4/5 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- A great knowledge on Autism and how to support children with this diagnosis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
- Proficiency in utilising technology for teaching and learning purposes
