About the job.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Technician to join our team in the Yorkshire North East Region. As a Technician, you will be working alongside other professional Engineers, supporting in the development and delivery of a wide variety of Renewal and Improvement schemes, to ensure that the Strategic Road Network safely meets the requirements of our customers now and into the future.

Throughout the planning and development stage of a project, you will provide support in the identification and development of early solutions for highways assets, working with key stakeholders including project teams and third parties to coordinate works across the region, and to provide technical support as needed.

This role shall provide an excellent opportunity to apply and develop your engineering and asset management knowledge, skills and experience within a progressive organisation investing billions across the strategic road network.

You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full driving licence, with no more than 3 points, to be considered for this position.

  • Provide support in the identification and management of asset studies and survey works
  • Support the identification and evaluation of asset specific needs in order to develop future maintenance and renewals solutions
  • Input into the development of early solutions for renewals, including the compiling of relevant documents, evidence and options in line with agreed methodologies and prioritisation criteria
  • Support the development of technical briefs provided to the design and construction contractor for renewals work
  • Support the capture and maintenance of roads asset data and condition information in the relevant database

About you.

  • Level 3 Qualification, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent.
  • Evidence of knowledge of Design Manual for Road & Bridges standards for Road Lighting and their application.
  • Good understanding of highways assets lighting and electrical installations, including knowledge of asset condition assessment.
  • Understanding of the value management process / cost benefit analysis of schemes.
  • Experience in infrastructure design or traffic engineering & Knowledge of CDM 2015 and BS#removed#th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
