Tax Accountant - FCA Regulated Fintech (Hybrid)About the Role:We are seeking a qualified Tax Accountant to join our fast-paced Fintech company based in West London. This role offers a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our tax affairs are handled efficiently and compliantly.The role will be approximately 70% tax focused / 30% accounting (reporting) focused.Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing all aspects of corporate tax, including direct and indirect taxes (VAT etc.)
  • Managing the full tax compliance process, ensuring timely and accurate filing of corporation tax returns and other tax obligations
  • Identifying and mitigating potential tax risks
  • Proactively developing and implementing tax planning strategies to optimise the company's tax position
  • Advising on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions
  • Liaising with external tax advisors and HMRC as needed
  • Managing the tax provision process
  • Maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring accurate tax records
  • Supervising junior tax staff (if applicable)
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest tax legislation and regulations
  • Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Qualified Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or equivalent (ACA or ACCA with strong tax specialism considered)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar tax manager role within an FCA regulated business, ideally a Fintech company
  • Strong understanding of UK corporate tax, direct tax, and indirect tax
  • Proven experience in managing the tax compliance process and tax planning for a fast-paced business
  • Experience using tax accounting software packages such as Blackline or SunSystems (highly desirable)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
