Panel Wirer

Salary: £23.18ph Umbrella with fantastic overtime rates
Contract: 6 months temp to perm
Location: Burton Upon Trent
Hours: 40 hours per week

The Role

Are you an experienced Panel Wirer or Harness Builder with a background in automotive or rail systems? This is an excellent opportunity for a Panel Wirer to join a well‑established production environment within a globally recognised engineering organisation, supporting the manufacture and repair of high‑quality electrical harnesses and assemblies.

This role is ideal for a practical, safety‑focused Panel Wirer who takes pride in producing work to drawing and instruction, thrives in a fast‑paced production setting, and values quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture conduit and concentric layered electrical harnesses to current drawings and instructions
Inspect, test, and repair electrical harnesses, control cabinets, power packs, and transmission systems
Diagnose and identify unfair wear and tear, escalating repair requirements to the Electrical Team Leader
Carry out electrical repairs on parts and equipment as required
Complete all documentation accurately, including inspection sheets and sign‑off records
Follow written and verbal instructions while working to realistic timeframes
Undertake training and development as required

The Ideal Candidate

Proven experience working in a busy electrical manufacturing or repair environment
Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and harness manufacturing
Able to work effectively to deadlines and adapt within a changing production environment
Highly organised, structured, and quality focused
Previous experience within rail or automotive industries is preferred
