About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated femaleSupport Workers to join our team in the Leeds Moortown area (LS17) to provide person centred care for a female service user who is unable to communicate verbally.

Rate: £12.40/hour.

Shifts: Tuesday-Friday 16:30-20:30, Saturday-Sunday 11:00-18:00

As a support worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the service user's quality of life. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the service user in her daily activities, joy of the outdoors in all weather’s whilst promoting her independence and well-being.
  • Engaging with the service user through playful interactions, making her feel comfortable and be attentive with their non-verbal cues to guide her.
  • Assisting the service user during outings to places she enjoys, such as Eureka in Halifax, the Media and Science Museum in Bradford, and the city water park in Bradford.
  • Ensuring the service is safe and never left unattended, especially during public transport and community outings.
  • Encouraging the service user to interact with others, and engage in sensory activities with pens, pencils, and crayons, which she enjoys.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Availability: Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays (1.5x rate). You MUST be available alternative weekends at minimum.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and Complex Care needs.
  • Must have at least 6 months UK care experience and right to work (RTW) in the UK.
  • An up-to-date DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service – Should you need to apply for a new DBS we can support you with this.
  • An up-to-date CV with all employment history.
  • To be able to commit to an assignment, to ensure structure and stability for the service user.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and an understanding approach.
