ROLE PURPOSE

As a Transport and Fleet Team Senior, you will be responsible for the daily planning and coordination of nationwide motorcycle logistics, ensuring efficient route scheduling, driver oversight, and smooth operational flow across the business. Working closely with the Transport & Fleet Manager, you'll play a crucial role in upholding our brilliant customer service by ensuring deliveries, collections, and depot movements are executed safely, efficiently, and on time.

As deputy to the Transport & Fleet Manager, you will assume full responsibility in their absence, providing leadership, decision-making support, and operational continuity across the transport, fleet, and salvage functions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Plan and coordinate daily nationwide delivery and collection schedules

* Optimise routes to maximise efficiency, cost control, and service levels

* Provide direct oversight and support to drivers, ensuring compliance, performance, and professionalism

* Act as first point of escalation for transport-related issues, delays, or incidents

* Liaise with the Operations team to align logistics with business demand and customer expectations

* Work closely with the Fleet team to coordinate vehicle availability, maintenance scheduling, and VOR management

* Support the Salvage team in coordinating movements, storage capacity, and workflow prioritisation

* Respond to and manage customer queries relating to deliveries, collections, and transport updates

* Monitor KPIs including utilisation, on-time performance, fuel efficiency, and vehicle downtime

* Ensure compliance with WTD requirements, road transport legislation, and health & safety standards

* Support performance management, training, and development of drivers

* Provide operational reporting and data analysis to senior management

* Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards

* Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

* Communication will be core to your role

* Other critical elements of this role include the ability to prioritise effectively as well as to identify and champion business improvement opportunities, removing any barriers to great performance.

* Build and maintain excellent, value-adding working relationships with

* immediate colleagues across the Lexham Group to explore new ideas and developments alongside sharing best practice.

* Respond, record and handle customer complaints.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

* Strong understanding of UK road transport compliance and operator licence obligations

* Experience managing or supervising drivers and teams

* Confident using route planning and fleet management systems

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment

* Excellent communication skills, both customer-facing and internal

* Commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, service, and operational efficiency

* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

* Proven experience in the complete customer journey, to include complaint handling and resolution.

* Experience across all areas is not required; however, experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, and fleet management is desirable
