Science Teacher - Alternative Provision

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are supporting an alternate provision who are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team, supporting young people who need education that works differently. The academy provides alternative education for students who have been permanently excluded, are at risk of exclusion, or who experience emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). The school also support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans who would otherwise attend specialist provision.

The academy works with over 220 young people each year. Many of the students face significant barriers to learning, which staff at the academy help them overcome those challenges through a supportive and personalised approach.

About the role:
Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a Science Teacher who can engage and motivate pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. You'll be delivering science in a way that connects with learners who may have struggled in traditional settings. It's about making the subject accessible, exciting, and relevant - and helping students build confidence, as well as knowledge.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, can manage change well, and genuinely wants to help young people succeed.

We're looking for someone who:

Has a strong background in teaching Science

Understands the importance of building positive relationships

Is calm, patient, and able to adapt their teaching to meet individual needs

Has experience (or a strong interest) in working with vulnerable or excluded young people

Works well as part of a team and believes in inclusive education
