The Fire Service Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient, compliant, and high-performing delivery of fire alarm maintenance, remedial works, and team management in accordance with BS 5839-1:2025.

Responsibilities - Fire Service Manager:

As a Fire Service Manager, your role will include:

Overseeing fire alarm maintenance, inspections, and remedial works to BS 5839-1:2025 standards.

Managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensuring timely delivery and high completion rates.

Prioritising and managing reactive works, ensuring compliance with SLAs.

Providing leadership to 18 engineers, service desk teams, and supervisors.

Conducting team meetings, one-to-ones, and performance reviews.

Managing service backlogs and ensuring safety-critical tasks are addressed promptly.

Implementing continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and service quality.

Acting as the escalation point for customer issues and ensuring effective resolution.
Collaborating with project and compliance teams to ensure cohesive service delivery.

Monitoring KPIs, analysing data, and producing performance reports.

Requirements - Fire Service Manager:

Minimum of 2 years managerial experience

Proven experience in fire alarm service management or a similar leadership role within the life safety or building services sector.

Strong technical knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems.

In-depth understanding of BS 5839-1:2025.

Excellent leadership and organisational skills.

Proficient in service management systems and reporting tools.

Strong communication and customer service abilities.
