We are looking for a Electrical Engineer

Salary: £24.47 an hour

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Shift: 4 on 4 off shifts including days and nights 6am-6pm & 6pm-6am

Permanent contract

JDR is recruiting for a Electrical Engineer to work in a manufacturing site in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The Role:

• Deliver a high quality of workmanship.
• Carry out repairs in accordance with the repair notification procedure.
• Carry out Plant Preventative Maintenance in accordance with Altair CMMS schedules.
• Carry out TPM and improvement activities.
• Fault finding from electrical schematic drawings.
• Understanding and Fault finding of drive systems.
• Understanding of PLC and ladder logic.
• Manufacture new electrical control circuit as requested.
• Undertaking of minor projects and machine modifications.
• Electrical installations to BS7671.
• Carry out modifications to existing equipment where necessary.
• Liaise with and assist sub-contractors as required and issue permits following procedure.
• Assist other maintenance trades in the completion of their duties as required.
• Ensure all work is recorded and any further job actions are raised on the Altair CMMS system.
• Operation of Fork Lift Truck.
• Operation of Mobile Elevated Working Platform.
• Ensure effective communication is maintained between succeeding shifts, and produce reports / logs to ensure job continuity.
• Reporting all accidents and near miss incidents.
• Identify and propose new means of improving the efficiency and reducing the down time of plant and machinery.
• Ensure all items are booked out from Engineering Stores, notifying through correct channels of any short falls.
• Recommend alternative technology to replace out-dated equipment.
• Understand basic pneumatic systems.

• Compliance with all EH&S requirements.
• Observe safety behaviour in the working environment.
• Understand emergency procedures and safe systems of work.
• Compliance with SOP's / SSOW's.
• Carry out Risk Assessments (Trained in the company system) relating to Engineering Tasks, and assist with generating SOP's / SSOW's
