Assistant Site Manager - High-rise Residential

We are working with a well-established developer to appoint an Assistant Site Manager on a major residential scheme in SE London. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing project team on a complex, multi-phase development involving high-rise construction and detailed external envelope works.

This role will suit someone looking to step up or further develop their career within a structured, quality-led environment, with exposure to technically demanding packages and strong internal processes.

The Role

Reporting into the Construction Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of site activities, with a particular focus on coordination, quality control and subcontractor management. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, in line with programme, and to the required standards.

You will be involved in:

  • Supporting the management of subcontractors across key work packages, including façade and external elements
  • Assisting with programme coordination to ensure works progress in line with the construction sequence
  • Monitoring health & safety on site and ensuring compliance with all procedures
  • Carrying out regular quality inspections and reporting on progress and defects
  • Supporting QA processes and maintaining accurate site records
  • Assisting with the coordination of trades to ensure efficient workflow and minimal disruption
  • Working closely with senior site team members, consultants and subcontractors

Requirements

  • Experience working as an Assistant Site Manager or strong Site Supervisor on residential or mixed-use developments
  • Exposure to reinforced concrete frame projects and an understanding of construction sequencing
  • Some experience or awareness of façade/external works (brickwork, SFS, cladding or similar) would be beneficial
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations and site compliance
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to deal with subcontractors and site teams effectively
  • Proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks
