Our client, a multidisciplinary property and design consultancy known for delivering high-quality, sustainable building solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services team.
Based in Matlock, you will play a key role in the design, delivery, and oversight of electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects throughout Derbyshire, primarily within the Education sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects from concept to completion, including site visits, tendering, and final sign-off.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for building services projects
- Prepare and manage tender documentation
- Conduct site inspections, oversee installation, and ensure compliance with design specifications
- Sign off completed electrical works and ensure quality assurance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers
- Ensure all work complies with current regulations and sustainability standards
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a full-time electrical engineering role within building services
- HNC or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary design team on both refurbishment and new build projects
- Experience of managing multiple projects at any one time
- Experience working on electrical design within the education sector
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and electrical standards
- Ideally having experience in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Relux, Amtech)
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)
- Live within a commutable distance from Matlock
