We are working with an Award-Winning, Top 20 Accountancy practice based in Cheltenham who are looking to grow by 50% over the next 5 years.

Your role as an Audit Assistant Manager:

  • Lead and manage statutory audits from planning through to completion across a wide range of corporate audit clients.
  • Act as the principal on-site contact for clients during fieldwork.
  • Supervise and develop on-site audit teams, reviewing work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Take ownership of assignments, ensuring delivery to agreed budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Support senior managers on large, complex audits and manage a small client portfolio independently.
  • Deliver insightful audit findings and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
  • Liaise with clients and prepare high-quality reports across assurance and risk management projects.
  • Identify opportunities to involve other specialists to meet wider client needs.
  • Manage work-in-progress and billing for assigned projects.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • You will be ACA/ACCA/CA Qualified with post qualification experience.
  • Have varied client sector background with a focus on corporate audit clients.
  • Strong understanding of business cycle controls, recognition of audit risks and business implications.
  • Ability to manage and lead teams of junior auditors. Mentoring and delegating work.
  • UK accountancy practice experience.
