EHC Assessment & Review Officer

We are seeking an EHC Assessment & Review Officer to manage the amendment of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) following statutory annual reviews. This role is crucial in addressing the current backlog and ensuring that EHCPs are updated accurately and efficiently. The position involves administrative tasks primarily in the back office, with potential minimal contact with families regarding amendments.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Collate reports received as part of the EHCP review process.
- Amend EHCPs based on review findings and issue an amended draft to parents/carers within the specified timescale.
- Incorporate parental representations into the final EHCP and issue the amended final document through Doncaster's EHC Hub.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 80 cases, focusing on phased transfers and high-priority cases.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in an administrative role, ideally within a local authority or educational setting.
- Familiarity with SEND terminology and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Proficient in using online systems, ideally with experience in The Hub.
- Computer literate with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
- Previous experience in plan writing or a similar role within local authorities is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
