Leader Education are looking for a SEND & Behaviour Support Assistant to work at a small Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) site within a mainstream school that caters for students in KS1 to KS4 based in Morpeth. The successful Support Assistant will have had experience working closely with children who have SEND & SEMH needs and is able to support them through the behaviour that they present using transferable skills from previous roles. The school delivers learning on a holistic basis, enabling them to re-engage at their own speed and reach their full potential.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.
The successful Behavioural Support Worker will have:
- An enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one
- Enthusiasm for working in education
- Relevant experience and transferable skills to support children efficiently
- Experience working with children who have SEMH & SEND needs
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents
- Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for supporting student learning
