We would like to hire an outstanding Facilities Supervisor to help support our school facilities team.
The purpose of the post will be to assist the Facilities team in providing support to the life of the school in its many non-teaching aspects.
There will be a particular emphasis on overseeing the cleaning and security contract, general repairs and maintenance, supervision of the school keepers and reception staff and associated functions, as well as ensuring the health & safety and well-being needs are met for all pupils, staff and visitors.
The post will involve being hands on, ensuring all the facilities functions can be maintained to meet the school’s needs. A good team working culture is encouraged especially during busy periods and periods of sickness, leave or extended absence.
It is important that all facilities staff are familiar with all aspects of the wider facilities and operational teams’ roles to enable staff to cover different shift patterns and responsibilities
Main Duties :-
Facilities Management
1 To assist in undertaking annual condition survey of all the school’s premises, in conjunction with the Facilities Manager and relevant Corporation departments. Ensuring that premises are maintained to a high standard to support school operations and in accordance with agreed programmes of planned and central maintenance.
2 Oversee the operations of the school vehicles and contract management to ensure we adhere to current law and regulations (including our coach contract and hiring of additional vehicles).
3 Regular checking of the School building for cleanliness, damage and identify any health and safety issues. Report to Facilities helpdesk any defects that require repair or maintenance and ensure the assigning work flows to relevant skilled member of the team.
4 In collaboration with the City of London Corporation and the Head of Facilities and Operations, monitoring and audit of the School’s Contract for cleaning provision ensuring standards are maintained. Liaising with the Schools contractors on staffing, standards, weekly and deep clean schedules.
5 To oversee the waste management at both sites and liaise with the CoL waste management team and corporate contractor to ensure waste is being efficiently managed and reduced to meet sustainability targets. Attend the CoL waste forum, oversee the customer hub and feedback on waste reduction opportunities and best practice in this area.
6 To assist the Facilities Manager with all existing and planned preventative maintenance schedules (termly, annually, and 5-yearly) that the school keepers oversee. Maintain records of all works carried out and take corrective measures as necessary. i.e. legionella, fire checks, fire doors etc.
7 Liaise with Facilities Manager and the Head of Facilities regarding current and future works to be carried out.
8 Assist the Facilities Manager in assessing energy efficiencies across the school site.
The hours will be 9am to 5pm.
The annual salary should you want a permanent role will be from £44,110 to £49,140.
