Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to exclusively share this Financial Controller to join our client's finance team in East Birmingham. Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities for this Financial Controller role:

Financial Reporting: Take ownership of the financial reporting process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Month End and Year End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, overseeing the reconciliation of accounts, accruals, and adjustments. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and liaise with auditors as necessary.

Process Improvements: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, systems, and controls. Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to streamline workflows, increase productivity, and reduce costs.

Team Management: Manage and mentor the transactional finance team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork and innovation.

Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor financial performance and support strategic planning initiatives.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies. Implement effective risk management strategies and internal controls to safeguard company
Key Requirements
For this Financial Controller role:
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field. Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.

Extensive experience in financial control roles, with a strong background in financial reporting, month-end/year-end processes, and management accounting.

Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering tangible results.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.

Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is desirable.
