Transport Planner – Permanent Role
Salary: £35,000 per year potentially more (DOE)
Location: Redditch
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00 with 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Coats Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on a permanent basis for our well-established client in the logistics sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and growing business within the Transport and Distribution industry.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):- Day-to-day route planning and scheduling
- Ensuring vehicle utilisation is efficient to maximise cost-effectiveness
- Maintaining compliance with Vehicle and Tachograph legislation
- Liaising with drivers and account managers to resolve issues and maintain service standards
- Scheduling vehicle maintenance work and rectifying any defects that arise
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- Minimum 1 year’s route planning experience
- Strong communication and administration skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS)
- Knowledge of Driver Time Directive regulations
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
Contract & Working Hours:- Permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week)
- Core hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Flexibility required – as this is a live transport planning role, overtime may be needed to maintain service levels when necessary
