The school supports pupils with autism, SEMH and behavioural challenges, many of whom thrive through structured physical activity, movement, and sports-based interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience leading PE sessions or sports activities and be confident managing small groups of pupils with varied needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering structured PE lessons and physical activity sessions under the guidance of the teaching staff

Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, team-building, and motor skills development

Leading small group interventions focused on fitness, communication, and cooperation

Assisting in classroom support when not delivering PE sessions

Liaising with teachers, SENCOs and external specialists to ensure inclusion and safety

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or PRU setting

Strong knowledge of physical education, sports, and activity-based learning

Ability to lead sessions independently and adapt content to suit individual needs

Excellent behaviour management and communication skills

HLTA qualification preferred, or a combination of relevant experience and sports leadership
