Looking for an on the tools Team Leader with elec or mech experience in the rolling stock industry to be apart of a Modifications Team working for a world renowned rolling stock company.

Job Title: Modification Team Leader (Rail)
Job Location: North West London
Hourly Pay Rate: £30.05 PAYE/£39.22 Umbrella
Shifts: Minimum 55 hours a week
Shift Pattern: Mon - Fri, Nights 18:30 - 6:30
Duration: On-going
Start Date: ASAP

Client Summary: Our Client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing.

Position Summary: To deliver best practice within key areas, support the team, promote and provide support to achieving a continuous improvement culture.

Main responsibilities:
* Health and Safety: Promote, coach and support H&S within the team, hazard plans, risk assessments, safety walks, accident/incident investigations, housekeeping (5S) and Ensuring correct PPE is worn and available at all times.
* Quality: Ensure control plan is understood and followed, take the lead in practical problem solving (PPS), measure and record non-conforming costs (NCC) and any deviations in quality.
* Delivery: Ensure correct TAKT is followed, process track any disturbances through ANDON, bottleneck process understood and resourced, ensure system for materials availability is adhered too.
* People Management: Manage and maintain discipline/attendance, communicate regularly and hold team briefs, discuss monthly performance, identify training needs and develop team to enhance flexibility.
* Hands on modifications: This position requires candidates to support the Modifications Team carrying out a suite of mechanical or electrical modifications on the Class 345 Fleet.

Person Profile/Experience:
* Clear knowledge of customer and business demands on their area.
* Thorough understanding of key production processes and sub-processes.
* Knowledge and experience of inventory and production control systems.
* Experienced user of problem solving and continuous improvement tools.
* Understanding of quality, safety and environmental systems.
* Ability to develop and encourage teams - Personal Effectiveness.
* Ability to challenge and change people behaviours - Personal Effectiveness.
* Methodical planner and organizer.
* Computer competency in MS Excel and MS Word.
