Sous Chef – £29,500 | 40 Hours per week | Luxury Care Home

 

Our client is a leading luxury care home, purpose-built to deliver exceptional care in a warm, modern, and thoughtfully designed environment. With a strong reputation for quality, dignity, and attention to detail, they understand the powerful role food plays in both wellbeing and daily enjoyment.

 

They are now looking for an experienced Sous Chef with a background in care home or nursing home kitchens to join their professional team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key role where you’ll do more than just cook—you’ll shape meaningful mealtime experiences for residents with a wide range of needs.

 

You’ll bring confidence in managing specialist diets, allergies, and modified textures, along with a genuine passion for serving food that’s both nourishing and enjoyable.

 

What They’re Looking For:

  • Experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a care home, nursing home, or similar environment
  • Strong understanding of allergies, modified diets, and nutritional needs of older adults
  • Ability to work to high standards in a busy kitchen environment
  • Supportive, team-focused approach with leadership potential
  • Level 2 or above in Food Hygiene
  • A genuine passion for food and a caring, inclusive attitude

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
  • Support with menu planning, specialist diets, and allergy management
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and kitchen budget support
  • Help supervise and train kitchen team members
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with care teams to ensure a positive mealtime experience for all residents
