Walker & Sloan are currently representing a well-established, forward-thinking contractor seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the continued growth of their commercial team.

This opportunity is ideal for a driven and proactive QS or SQS who is confident managing the full commercial lifecycle of a project - from cost planning and procurement through to final accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

While the day-to-day responsibilities will be familiar to experienced surveyors, the focus in this role is on:

Accurate cost forecasting, budgeting, and reporting

Managing subcontractor procurement and valuations

*

Ensuring effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle

*

Supporting value engineering and cost-saving opportunities

*

Building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders

Requirements:

Proven experience working for a main contractor in a QS or SQS capacity

*

Strong commercial acumen and excellent attention to detail

*

Effective communication and negotiation skills

*

Ability to manage multiple projects or packages simultaneously

*

Relevant qualifications (e.g. BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent)
