Ford Hospital has a reputation of providing for the growing needs of the
community. From its 48 patient capacity start, growth and expansion
throughout the last century has morphed Henry Ford Hospital into an 877-bed
tertiary care center, level 1 trauma center, and one of the largest teaching
hospitals in the U.S. Additionally, the institution has grown to include
Henry Ford Allegiance, Macomb, Wyandotte, West Bloomfield, and Kingswood
Hospitals, multiple specialty care services, community care services, and
research and education initiatives. All told, currently the system provides 3.2
million patient visits annually.

Henry Ford previously had an impressive
training program that has produced a number of leaders in our field. Currently, we are working to reestablish a
6-year integrated dual-degree training program, affiliated with Wayne State
University. Currently, we are interested
in hiring an energetic, enthusiastic, talented, surgeon to join our faculty and
be involved this residency building process.

In addition to residency building
responsibilities, attendings in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Henry Ford
hospital will have the opportunity to practice full scope hospital based
surgery with regular on call responsibilities. Additionally, attendings will have an opportunity to develop a faculty
practice in at a brand new state of the art facility in Royal Oak, MI, will
have responsibilities to cover resident clinics at the University of Detroit
Mercy Dental School, and will be eligible for promotion to professorship at
Wayne State University.

Ideal candidates are those who care deeply
about resident education and service and want to create a program dedicated to
creating an environment where residents can grow and thrive.

Candidates considered for the position
must be Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Oral &
Maxillofacial Surgeons and must be able to secure a Michigan State Dental and
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery License prior to their appointments.
