A Lead Model Validation Analyst position to join a well-established UK financial technology and lending platform that provides fast, data-driven financing solutions. The company, headquartered in London, has grown into a leading provider in their sector, leveraging technology and analytics to streamline access to credit. This position will play a key role in independently reviewing and validating a range of financial models to ensure robustness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance within a high-performing risk and analytics team.

THE ROLE

You can expect to be involved in the following day to day:

  • Independently review and validate key models including mostly scorecards and some IFRS9 models, assessing conceptual soundness, data quality, and technical implementation.
  • Partner closely with model development and business teams to identify model risks and drive timely remediation actions.
  • Provide oversight of ongoing model performance monitoring, including back-testing, stability analysis, and recalibration activities.
  • Produce clear, well-structured validation documentation and reports, communicating findings, limitations, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure validation activity and model documentation align with internal governance standards and relevant regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the model risk management and validation framework in line with industry best practice.
  • Proactively identify control weaknesses or emerging risks and take ownership of driving practical, effective solutions.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience using Python
  • Experience in validation (scorecards preferred but generally open)
  • Experience working within a FCA regulated company
  • A strong university degree in a numerate discipline
