Business overview

The UK European Pressurised-water Reactor (EPR) Design Centre further develops EDF's nuclear expertise in Britain with a centre where leading companies can come together with EDF to support Hinkley Point C (HPC) and other UK EPR projects in their design, build and commissioning. Led by EDF's new nuclear engineering division (DIPNN UK) and Edvance UK, the Centre is based in Aztec West, Bristol.

EDF's Engineering Directorate, the Plant Integration Function is responsible for technical integration and operational coordination of HPC design delivery and management of the associated Responsible Designer (RD) contracts.

Dealing with a range of stakeholders (including project delivery team members and the Responsible Designer teams), the Project Support Officer will support several different transverse topics on the Responsible Designer Contract (the scope of which is to deliver ~80% of the site design delivery and integration), helping to resolve them in a timely manner to support the overall safety, quality, schedule, and costs requirements.

The role

This is a Project Support position, working in a transverse role supporting a Project Management function, to support delivery of the HPC Project engineering contract in accordance with contract terms and conditions and in line with the overall Project schedule.

Principal Accountabilities

The primary responsibility of the role of the Project Support Officer is to provide a reliable support service to the Responsible Designer (RD) Contract Team, supporting the successful management the RD Contracts, to ensure that the engineering is delivered safely to cost, schedule and quality, and in line with the terms and conditions of the Contract.

Other responsibilities of the Project Support Officer include:

* Provide a professional, accurate and reliable support service to the RD Contract Project Management team

* Support the management of risk on RD Contracts; coordination and expediating of Early Warning Notice responses and risk mitigation actions in an efficient and effective manner

* Support the progress of the contractual milestone deadlines and progressing acceptance process

* Coordinate and record meetings, providing administrative support to the Project Managers

* Maintain accurate trackers and records to ensure information is readily available and easily accessible

* Regular reporting and updates to Power BI Dashboards

* Develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; in particular, project managers, engineering managers/leads and the Responsible Designers

The Project Support Officer will be required in addition;

* To ensure that work is carried out in line with Health and Safety, Schedule and Quality Assurance requirements

* To be a role model and demonstrate the highest standards of focus on nuclear professionalism and safety.

In addition, the post-holder will likely be required to perform other tasks relevant for the project or to the personal development of the post holder.
