Key Responsibilities

🛣️ Lead the estimating process for NYSDOT and municipal highway/bridge projects

📐 Analyze plans, specs, and geotechnical reports to determine scope and risks

📊 Build detailed cost estimates including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor work

📬 Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes

📈 Develop unit pricing, production rates, and resource allocation models based on historical performance

📋 Coordinate closely with project management, operations, and executive leadership

🧑‍🏫 Train and mentor junior estimators while improving internal estimating systems and workflows

🗂️ Manage bid schedules, proposal documents, and compliance with DOT bid requirements

What You Bring

🚧 8+ years of experience estimating heavy civil, highway, or bridge projects

📚 Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred

🧠 Expertise in DOT specs, AASHTO standards, bridge structure methods, earthwork, drainage, and utilities

🖥️ Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Excel, and electronic takeoff tools

📣 Excellent leadership, time management, and bid strategy skills

📍 Familiarity with New York State DOT project delivery methods is a major plus
