Java Tech Lead / contract / 6 Months / Extendable / £440 Per Day INSIDE IR35 / Hybrid
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Java Tech Lead to drive the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise back-office solutions. This role combines strong hands-on Java expertise with leadership responsibilities to guide technical teams and ensure seamless integration across platforms, including Workday and other enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performing Java-based solutions.
Architect and manage system integrations, including Workday and third-party platforms, ensuring efficient and reliable data flow.
Provide technical direction, mentoring, and code reviews to development teams, ensuring best practices and high-quality deliverables.
Oversee the implementation process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business objectives.
Collaborate closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and vendors to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring stability and scalability of delivered solutions.
Champion the adoption of modern development methodologies, CI/CD practices, and cloud technologies.
Skills & Experience:
Extensive hands-on experience with Java (Core Java, Spring/Spring Boot) and API development.
Strong expertise with API Gateway, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and microservices architecture.
Proven background in designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications and integrations.
Solid understanding of architectural patterns, integration frameworks, and best practices for performance and security.
Familiarity with Workday integration (desirable but not mandatory).
Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring development teams.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
