Family Paralegal/Legal Assistant, 1+ PQE, West Midlands/Warwickshire. This is one of the largest legal practices in Warwickshire, with a forward-thinking approach offering interesting, challenging and rewarding career opportunities for suitably legally qualified, managerial and administrative staff. This role would suit an individual with at least one years' experience working as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, supporting a busy Family Care Department.

FAMILY PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANT:

Your key responsibilities will be as follows, produce accurate detailed work to ensure excellence in legal services, maintain files and ensure efficient case management of care matters, draft any documentation in accordance with efficient file management including correspondence, briefs, court documentation, full attendance notes and statements of evidence, time record in accordance with the Firm's policy and prepare bills as necessary, attend to clients at court with counsel, undertake work necessary to build up maintain and manage a caseload, undertake any reasonable instructions made by Directors, Department Heads or Fee Earners within the limits of the job description and attend department meetings as required.

Knowledge and experience will include, at least one years' experience working within a Family Care Department as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Outlook and good keyboard skills, the ability to work within quality and case management systems (e.g. Lexcel and Tikit), have a dynamic in approach and uses initiative when dealing with clients or potential clients, a team player and flexible in approach, ability to deal with sensitive situations and difficult clients in a professional, confidential manner, knowledge of the legal process to understand the work being undertaken, knowledge of the work of Family Care Department and the relevant law will be an advantage, experience of public funding procedures preferred. Driving licence and use of own vehicle preferable, but ability to travel between offices, courts and stakeholder office is essential. Very competitive salary and extensive benefits.
