Service Charge Accountant – Birmingham

We’re on the hunt for a Service Charge Accountant to join a friendly, established managing agent in Birmingham. This is a genuinely nice business to work for - supportive team, sensible workloads, and managers who actually know what service charge accounting involves.

As our new Service Charge Accountant, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of around 40 properties / 1,000 units, working alongside a lovely team with supportive seniors. You’ll be trusted, supported, and given space to grow - with training and qualification support included.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Service Charge Accountant, your day-to-day will include:

• Issuing service charge demands (on time, every time)
• Maintaining and reconciling client accounts daily
• Managing payment runs
• Completing service charge reconciliations
• Keeping on top of financial escalations across the portfolio
• Preparing annual expenditure records
• Assisting with annual service charge accounts
• Being the calm, capable finance person that loves problem solving.

What’s In It For You

• £35,000 – £40,000 salary (depending on experience)
• Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (with a proper 1-hour lunch)

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 years’ experience in a Service Charge Accountant / service charge accounting role
• A solid accounts or finance background
• Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure
• Comfortable managing multiple properties and deadlines
• AAT / ACCA or QBE
