Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Type: Permanent

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Sheffield. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of industrial projects, taking designs from concept through to detailed engineering and manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

Design mechanical components, assemblies, and industrial machinery using SolidWorks.
Produce detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models.
Design sheet metal components and welded fabrications to manufacturing standards.
Support projects from concept through to manufacture and delivery.
Liaise with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
Generate BOMs and technical documentation.
Support prototype builds, testing, and design improvements.Skills & Experience Required:

Strong experience using SolidWorks (essential).
Background in mechanical design within industrial machinery, fabrication, or similar environments.
Minimum 3 years' experience in Mechanical Design.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Product Design Engineering, or similar
