Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality social work interventions and support to individuals with mental health issues within forensic services.
- Conduct thorough assessments of service users, considering their mental health needs and risk factors.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of appropriate and tailored interventions.
- Work closely with service users, their families, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Offer expert advice to colleagues, including other healthcare professionals, on social work practice and the implications of legislation and policy.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Participate in the supervision and mentoring of junior staff, promoting their professional development.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of services, working towards continuous improvement.

Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England (SWE).
- Demonstrable experience working within mental health forensic services, preferably within a similar NHS setting.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and policies, including the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Care Act 2014.
- Ability to undertake comprehensive assessments, formulate care plans, and deliver effective social work interventions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with service users, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage a complex caseload and prioritize workload effectively.
- Commitment to working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, promoting integrated care.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up-to-date with current research, best practices, and legislative changes.
