Solution Architect

Poole, Dorset- quarterly office visits or on a needs must basis.

£45,000 - £60,000 + 16% pension, 26 days holiday + benefits

Homeworking: This will be a hybrid contract of employment but largely home based. There are quarterly team meet-ups in the offices in Poole, or project meetings as and when needed.

We are looking to hire a Solution Architect in to our team as a result of an internal move. Sitting in our Enterprise Architecture team as Solution Architect, you will be responsible for supporting appropriate architecture and design of end-to-end solutions and ensuring their alignment to strategic enterprise and business architecture.

This is a specialist role that involves defining solutions for change in the context of the wider enterprise architecture, and helping to develop supporting roadmaps.

The role:

• Produce and lead the solution architecture for systems in response to technology and business-led demand, creating Solution Concepts or High Level Designs that give a high level view of the target solution across business, data, application and technology.
• You will get to be involved from the beginning of change initiatives in requirements discovery and review to formulate and lead Solution Concepts or High Level Designs. You will then work with the design team to ensure the detailed design conforms to the high level solution design, managing changes where necessary.
• Following through to implementation and delivery to check that the delivered solution conforms to the concept.
• Ensure that the Solution Concepts or High Level Designs adhere to the High Level Architecture Principles.
• Where required, develop interim solution roadmaps to support stepped transition to the target solution.
• Support Domain Architects in the creation and maintenance of roadmaps for the technology platforms and technologies in their portfolios.

Ideal skills and experience we are looking for:

• Some initial experience in a Solution Architect role, or through engagement in similar activities in a similar role that demonstrates your capabilities and suitability to be our next Solution Architect.
• You will be keen to develop your career and develop your skills as a Solution Architect.
• We are really after someone who is ambitious, keen to grow, and stay up to date with developments in the technology landscape.
• You need strong communication skills to be able to work with both technical and non-technical people.
