SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant position in Stockport

Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with autism within the EYFS setting, ensuring their individual needs are met and they are fully included in all activities.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and interventions to support the child's learning and development.
- Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with the child, building trust and rapport to facilitate their engagement and progress.
- Adapt and differentiate activities and resources to meet the child's specific learning needs and preferences.
- Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher and SENCO to inform future planning and support strategies.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with autism and/or other special educational needs, preferably within an educational setting.
- Understanding of autism and knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with autism in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the holistic development and well-being of children with special educational needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, would be advantageous.
